Well, living in an ''urban area'', I would say to definitely spend the $ on locks. I've gotten wheels taken from me' and it's not fun finding your car on the floor. I would say that the best lock so far is the one that's round on outside and locks from within. My advice. Add your rims to your insurance and don't stress it if it happens. They have to pay you for almost cost of the wheels....as long as you have a reciept. Just buy another pair.

i had these on my car before i sold it.

but the ones i wanted/was looking for, the most outermost portion "spun" when you tried use an impact socket or any other socket.

they are hard to find, but you can find them on eBay through various sellers in Europe cheaper than the links price.

wonder if these are any better, theoretically they should be, right?

uhm, no....., i'm talking about mcgard locks. not sure why you think i'm talking about the gorilla locks. the gorilla ones don't even seem to have top spinning bolts but just the lug nuts.

I think what AcutePerformance is talking about is the "Gorilla Lock Guard" (red photo with the free spinning sleeve): http://www.gorilla-auto.com/gorilla.locks
