umnitza, next week when you do the comparison with ro11dice, you should take pics of dice's E60's ICE V1 vs. your silver E39's ICE V2. And then take out one of dice's V1 and replace it with a new V2 and take a picture of that comparison. I think the latter picture will squash this quibble once and for all.
I'll stand on my head and wiggle one toe while I do it too LOL J/K - I'll do all the comparison photos, no problem.

the silver car angel eyes has distinct rings but a bit dimmer. maybe the camera focus to the center of the photo--making it appear more sharper? therefore the angel eyes of cars around the silver car will be more blurry and appear more intense? but hey when a group of car owners observed AIBs & ICE in person and concluded that AIBs appear brighter than ICE. i'm going to agree with them....i don't think all 4-6 people that were there have vision problems

CustomAngelEyes/Umnitza:

Not to play devil's advocate, but could you measure the light intensity emitted by the angel eyes themselves outside the car?

I have replaced the Predator Ice V1 with a LED & driver with a Luxeon 5.8W (130 lm) LED and a 1,000 mA driver. All that changed is the color and there is no appreciable difference in brightness, especially in daylight. This leads to me to believe that increasing the brightness of the LED is not linearly proportional to the increasing the brightness of the angel eyes. Hence, advertising that a new product (LED) is "2x/3x/5x+ brighter" may be true, but is misleading. A multiple of the brightness compared to V1, measured from the outside of the headlights when the angel eyes are on, may provide a more relevant figure.

I do not believe (although I would like to be proved wrong) that simply increasing brightness of the LED would make the angel eyes have any sort of appreciable difference (as compared to the E36/E46 angel eyes), especially in daylight, due to the way the E60 headlights are designed.

For now I'll stick with the AngelIBright and Predator ICE V1's.

Thanks for reading,
Owen530i
i agree with the above; i don't think both the predator ICE and AIB can ever be as bright as stock angel eyes. the way the pre-lci e60 headlights are designed don't reflect light too well. That is a big reason why the newer LCI headlights is redesigned to be ran as DRL.

the "2x/3x/5x+ brighter" etc...don't mean anything when comparing to other brands. an example is one brand that sits more flush and can focus the light better into the angel eye rings. the observed brightness is more than a brand that was actually LED rated 2x brighter output. even how each competitor evaluate their standards is from what? LED light output flux, LED wattage, or observed brightness of angel eyes? the numbers mean notthing, we can't compare apple with oranges. unless there is a standard way of measuring....each company can say whatever and can still be technically accurate. for us consumers, we want comparison that we can see and obviously we have trouble seeing the difference with various versions/brands.

Yeah, to me it all boils down to what the eye can see. No one's going to walk around with scientific equipment to measure wattage, kelvins or lumens to compare brightness levels.

I can come over with ro11dice to Umnitza on Friday. If the ICE v2 does all the advertised functions such as: Better than AIB v2, DRL functionality, and Tap wire functions... I'll switch
