Hello,

I am a long time reader first time poster. I have a 05 530i, it is my first BMW and I love it. I have recently bought the AFE intake for the 06-07 (I believe) model year car. I knew that it had to be modded to fit my engine compartment, I have read a bit where people have done so I figure I would give it a go. Well, 4 hours later its on and the "feel" of the car is ALOT different, in a good way. Seems to have a bit more get up and go in the lower gears which makes me happy. Ok, now for the issue....

The Transmission seems to be getting "stuck" or "holding" 3rd gear longer than before. There is a noticable "hang" and it is concerning me. The car only has 18k miles on it and this is the first "Mod" done to the engine. There is no check engine light, no other issue with the motor, just the "gear hanging". Has anyone else that has installed this filter experianced this? Do I need to be worried?

Before someone says "take it to the dealer" I have to preface that with "My dealer really really SUCKS". Example; my CD player skips, so I took it in to have it replaced, I got a call 15mins later stating my car was not in "Warrenty condition". You see, I was in BFE and had my oil changed at a garage that didnt "specialize" in BMW's or any car for that matter and an after market oil filter was installed. Well, I was told that voided my warrenty on the ENTIRE car. Why they looked at my oil filter is beyond me....So here I sit, a "modded" intake / breather (what ever it is) on my car and the 3rd gear hanging. I know if I go to the dealer I will get pounded, and the stock intake tube to the engine is of course cut and modded, so I cant put it back to stock state.

You guys are the experts and I am as "noob" as it comes. Any ideas? What would you do if you were in this situation.

Thank you in advance.....
