Ok, let me get something straight, isnt the 2006 e90 and e60 330/530 have the same engine? Then would you not be able to use the same cold air intake? I looked at anythingauto.com and found the price for the 330i was 396 while for the 530i the price was 290 something? Anything guys?

I have a question here...
Per this brief by Bav Auto, I'm a bit concerned about installing my AFE CAI tomorrow.
http://www.bavauto.com/Assets/inst_pages/INS368.pdf
That said, I'm thinking about ordering the dry filter instead and using that. My question is this...what is the main difference between the high performance, OILED, blue filter that I have and the dry filter? The one I ordered cost me $15 more, but does it do anything different, performance wise?

How many members are interested ?
I wrote to the english distributor (from US too many taxes) and he gave the following answer :
"I don?t stock it but I am a TMS distributor so can get hold of it, let me make some enquiries and I?ll come back to you regarding price, shipping to Italy is not a problem"
So in next day I will know the price .
Is there someone else from Europe who wants to buy it ?
Andy, Iceman .. ?
Cheers!

I just called Autoanything right now because I didn't see the AFE CAI for the 550i listed on their website. The rep said they don't sell the CAI for the 550i? ![Noexpression](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/noexpression.gif)

He is crazy: Here it is:
http://www.autoanything.com/air-filters/61...A0A2646326.aspx
There website is a little strange, you need to select 2006 540i and then sub model 550.

Just got off the phone with autoanything and they said it will be about 7-10 days for this item to ship. They said they called the manufacturer and its because I ordered the Pro Dry S filter. They also highly recommended the Pro Dry S filter saying it is far superior to the oiled filter. Must be true since Bavauto gives a warning on the oiled filter and that autoanything could have made more from me if ordered the oiled filter.

Ya the pro dry filter is farking awesome. Mine came with my AFE intake and I love it. I wash it simply by running it under water and letting it dry and its good to go. No cleaning solutions followed by oil and the chance of screwing with your MAF which causes decrease performance possibly and a bunch of codes to be thrown. I love mine

Since I have it sitting in the box, ready for install, I'm going with the blue, high performance filter over the dry. I can't wait to order the dry one. Having it sitting here is just killing me. Plus, vegastrashed, SoCalM5Mang and a few others said they never had issues. If I do, I'll get it cleaned and order the dry one. But I'm willing to take the chance for now.

Wait, C! I spoke with Darwin and found out I have the dry cone. That's why I've never had any problems.

My installer looked at it with me today and we saw no signs of oil on the MAF. Its pretty damn difficult trying to determine what filter I have. I don't think I have the ProDRY S P/N 21-90004 but rather the 24-91021 which is seemingly the "oiled filter". How would I know if I was suffering decreased performance from oil on the MAF? Would I get a fault code reading?
What should I do? Should I call AFE and have them send me the other ProDRY S Filter and then have my installers put it in?
Help me out.
So Cal
