I'm trying to get some advice and this has to be the best place for it! I'm looking at getting some new wheels for my 550i, but want to hold on to my OEM 172s for later use, so I dont want to remove the TPM set. Does any one know if there is alternative to going to the dealer for these? If the dealer is the best option, any idea of what I should expect to pay for a new set??? I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find any previous posts on it...

My Ride: 07 BMW 525i Premium Package, Xenon Lighting Package, manual Transmission. Titanium Grey, 20% Tint around the back, 70% V-Kool on front.
Planned mods: Style 71 wheels with Toyo Proxy 4 tires, Sachs suspension upgrade, upgraded stereo, and many more to come.
you can get the TPM sensors from garry at newport, i think it's about $170 for a set of 4 shipped (see the sticky at the top of this forum). they are also available at tirerack, so if you end up buying wheels from tirerack they can mount the sensors for you with no extra charge, through tirerack it's about $200.
just make sure the aftermarket wheel you have will fit the sensor. my bbs rims have a smaller valve stem hole so i have to purchase a smaller set of valve stem from tirerack (the sensor itself is the same).
good luck.

Okay, the sensors are the same, it's the stems that vary in size. Got it, thanks kchan!!!
