So I should give up on exchanging with someone and buy the trim outright? If I wait, maybe the trim will show up online (used). Are there any other good alternatives out there?
I have never seen the ruthenium finish even in a picture. I might want that if it costs the same.
BTW, about how much would the trim pieces cost in the US (ballpark)? Would the aluminum be different in cost? Might it be cheaper? If so, I am willing to refinish the aluminum (because I can do that) and remove the diamonds.
The last post's pictures didn't make it through on my computer. I would like to see the aluminum pictures too.

rodybmw, your pictures above didn't show. I am asking for pictures of metal trim in another thread but nobody else is interested. So I am resurecting this one.
I do have titanium trim pictures but not the others. I like that you showed the parts pictures and thank you. You say early wood trim came with metal on the door? Any pics anybody?
I may start with the door trim first. I then would do dash trim but console last. Still considering electroplate.

If you want to I can email the pics directly to you, just let me know what your email address is.
Here is a picture of an early production E60 with wood trim and Ruthenium door pulls. If you can't see this picture either then let me know and I will email it as well:

Thanks rodybmw, those 2 pics were x'ed out while all other images in this thread are visible to me. Door pull seems angled or twisted in this pic from today. Makes it look like it can't fit on my may build. I enabled email notification of replies below. No idea what that might offer. Saw your other m5 trim post already. Looks nice to me too.

Are the levers to open the door, front and back the Ruthenium or something else? I thought it would be nice to get the door pulls and dash to match those, or vice-versa.
