And it's amazing!
plugged in my iPhone and it reads all the playlists, no delay and the good thing is I set iTunes to extract from CD at lossless quality. Yes the file is larger but the quality is great.

It cost me $700 from BMW, that includes the iPOD kit $350, coding $250, and labor $100 to remove the CD changer and install the retrofit kit.

The cable is long enough to reach center console so I will re-route but it will take time, for now I will leave the phone in the glove box when I am driving, i can control it via blue tooth.

It's well worth the effort!

Hey Shlooky - what dealership did you go to? - I want it!

... the kids at Endras seem to be ok but I'd rather go where a fellow member has been..

Do you have Logic7 or standard audio??

I work close to DVP and Eglinton so I take my BMW to Parkview BMW on Leslie, just north of Eglinton.
I do have logic 7. The car had to stay over night because the bracket wasn't going to be shipped until the morning, got a free car rental out of the deal

By the way, the iPod retrofit does have various configurations in iDrive...

MP3 1 = playlist
Mp3 2 = Artists
MP3 3 = Album
MP3 4 = Genre
MP3 5 = Podcast
MP3 6 = Track

It's awesome as I have a ton of Podcasts from Morgan Page that I listen to from time to time

I must say when I had mine, it was laggy as hell! The whole iDrive in general was laggy...
