Added the iPOD retrofit to my 545i
Hey John,
Can you code remotely?? I'm in Texas and I just bought an auxiliary input adapter for my 2005 525i E60 and I'm going to try and install it myself but I still would need someone to code it for me. I was told that it's possible as long as I had a cable. Thanks.

I am in Canada, that's the problem, everything here is expensive!!!
If cars can be coded remotely, I will be more than willing to ask someone to code. But that is a big IF.
Thanks

Do you have problems with the iDrive knob stopping when you go below or above the list of songs to scroll up. I had an 05 545i, which of course had the older iDrive system and it would stop the knob when scrolling and you would just have to hold it in place. Dealer couldn't even figure it out. Don't have the car anymore but was just curious if that problem existed on all. Thanks.

I was going to do this interface on my e60, but for $30 you get one that plugs into the lighter jack and spend the other $700 and better mods!!
We need someone like John from motorcepts here!! You'll make a fortune too!! Lol
And it's amazing!
plugged in my iPhone and it reads all the playlists, no delay and the good thing is I set iTunes to extract from CD at lossless quality. Yes the file is larger but the quality is great.
It cost me $700 from BMW, that includes the iPOD kit $350, coding $250, and labor $100 to remove the CD changer and install the retrofit kit.
The cable is long enough to reach center console so I will re-route but it will take time, for now I will leave the phone in the glove box when I am driving, i can control it via blue tooth.
It's well worth the effort!
