I have an Irish spec 2008 520d M Sport. It has PDC, USB and 3.5mm audio socket, but no Sat Nav.
As I understand it, the Accessory Control Module introduced by BMW allows movie content
from a USB drive to be displayed on the iDrive screen.

I have a number of questions as I have seen some conflicting information online. BMW Ireland
seem to know nohing of this part.

Is the part available in Ireland/UK/Europe. What is the current part number/price?
I understand that the ACM also needs a separate USB connector. Do I already have this part as I have the
factory USB socket already fitted?
What's the quality like? I think the iDrive screen can display only 256 colours.
Does the car need a system update to be carried out by a BMW dealer? Is this a full update or partial?
Has anyone in Ireland/UK carried out this mod successfully?
How big a job is the install - what needs to be taken apart?

I'm trying to find out all I can about this mod before I put my car in to get a bluetooth car kit installed.
I was going to put in a Parrot kit, to take advantage of the steering wheel interface but in the end, I've
gone for a Nokia unit.

Any advice would be gratefully received. If I subsequently go ahead, I'll post full details here.
