About to pull the trigger on wheels for the 530xi

But before I do I just want to make sure that I've got everything straight.

I'm planning on getting the Beyern Mesh wheels in black, 19x8.5 with an et40 offset for the front, 19x9.5 with an et45 offset in the back. I'm just getting the rims for now, but when they arrive I plan to wrap them in 245/35/19 & 275/30/19 rubber.

Will I have any rubbing or fitment issues with this? Are the TPM modules strictly necessary? The car isn't lowered, but in the future if I pick up a set of the H&R springs will I have any problems with this set up? Reading about the issues that some people are having makes me hesitant to lower the car so I want to see wht it looks like with the stock suspension. My car is Silver Grey so the colour should help hide the fender gap.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Sounds good! w/ ET you described you'll be good ... My setup are ET35/40 w/ same width & tire sizes plus H&R lowering kit and still clear w/o problem ...

The higher offset means that mine will be further "in" than yours correct? How long have you had the H&R springs and how do you like them? How do you find the ride?

Also, are the TPM modules really necessary? I'm a stickler for checking tire pressure so I don't really need them to tell me that something is wrong. Is the error code that idrive puts up a nuisance that can be lived with?

ET35 front and ET38 rear would fill your fenders really nicely and you could still drop it but if you do remember that coils are the only way to go.

Unfortunately with those wheels the 8.5 inch width comes with a et30 or et40 offset, and the 9.5 inch widths come in a et30 or et45 offset. I could get 8.5 inch width rims with a et40 offset all around but I like how the rims look staggered.

I'd like to go with coilovers, but really the price is a killer. Seems like some people don't have any issues at all, some people have nothing but problems. We'll see how it looks with the stock ride height and take it from there. Do you know of any suppliers in Canada for the H&R coilover kit?

Any local tuner shop should be able to get you H&R's, it's a popular brand for other cars like VW etc. For some reason I thought your rims were ordered for custom offsets. Guess it's spacers for you

A wha? I need spacers? I thought that the offsets would be alright as is. I really prefer not to use spacers, is it merely a cosmetic thing? I'd even prefer going to 8.5 inch widths all around (40mm offset) if it gets me out of having to use spacers. If I did that then the front would only be 5mm off and the rear would be off by 2mm (from your numbers). That should be close enough to be spacer free no?

Blastiwi, do you need to use spacers? On the front do you think 5mm (about a quarter inch) more offset would be ok?

IMHO the TPMS are a must - dealing with the alert can be annoying and distracting. You're planning on spending thousands of $$$$s to mod your car .. .. the TPMS are a couple of hundred of dollars if you shop for them

I see where you're coming from, but to me wasted money is wasted money. I don't really need a computer telling me that my tire pressure is low. I don't mind buying them, but if I don't really need to I'd rather not.

These will work perfectly. I had the EXACT same specs on my 19" wheels on my 530xi. I ended up using spacers for the front and rear too, just to push the wheels out to the fenders a bit.
