545i muffler delete

I have not done this but Id imagine torque and even hp numbers to decrease. I have no proof, just speculation. Reducing back pressure blindly does not seem like a proven method to increase numbers. The rumble did sound pretty damn good though.

EDIT: I did a quick google search and found this. I am not sure how accurate it is, but it was an interesting read.

Interesting read thanks for posting. It just seems the stock system: with cats, resonators and two in-line mufflers seem a bit restrictive. Looking through the bentley manual it looks like one can un-bolt the exterior muffler, fab a section of pipe, bolt it back in, test it, then if the number don't add simply bolt back in the stock muffler. Just need to find some backyard testing methods, LOL!
