You added no value with this point...... you want to elaborate because you did not answer ONE question

I showed the pics to a friend and he highlighted the same point, about the pressure .
In some situations, the pressure gives an amount of performance, he told me .

Appreciate all points made.

vt, as JetBlack mentioned it's just a matter of personal research on a particular product and whether it fits ones needs from various perspectives. For example, you like the sound it makes, for me, although it sounds great , it's not a priority. On your setup, all the mods you have made are awesome and fit your and your cars' philosophy/attitude.

Jetblack, the ram air effect coming from the front dam air tube is still there. It is "directed" in the general area of the cai filter. The cover on top kinda stops the air from diffusing away, so goes the theory. However, this, and combined with your point over internal pressure and the cache of air it creates are also my arguements to keep my stock and k&n setup. Dinan for example add another ram effect tube and keep an enclosed air filter casing.

Not sure if I want to loose the stock look as this might raise questions to my dealer (i have BMW insurance) as to engine mods...

I rang my tuner, a man that I trust .
He works on all nice cars (old and new), rally cars and even on old the F1 cars .

He said "Something the car should gain, with it, although it needs an high amount of air . It is not the best position where you can put it, but probably is the only possible"

(I send him pics by email)

About pressure, in his opinion it should have a little of it, due to the silver plate .

After got and installed it, it would be better to get a new remap .

Anyway, about new air, don't forget it is behind the kidney grills .

Bye!

It appears to me that it is not behind the kidney grill but behind the headlight in VT's pic?
