My car came from the factory with 19" rims....does that mean that I need to tell them that I have leather and not upholstery and that I had the factory option lip spoiler too?
As far as telling them about DMS, I havent told them as they will never find out. I am not particularly keen on giving them more money.
I am struggling to sleep at night, but I'll get by.
Thanks for your concern

[I understand the way insurance works but do you really think an ECU remap would make you any more likely to crash/claim? ![Think](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/think.gif)

But now think about the average Scooby owner with a penchant for tuning and you can see why most mainstream insurance companies wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, never mind a % price hike.

535d has bigger brakes and (I am told) uprated drivetrain. The new 231 530d engine can be tuned to the same torque as the standard 535d so you have to wonder about the transmission.
Anyone broken a 535d transmission?

The full answer is to declare *everything* and let them decide what is important... I reckon most 'mainstream' insurers would have an opinion on the 19's - either denial to quote or increased premium... (Factory-fitted or not!) However, I haven't told my insurer (Egg) that I've got 18" wheels...

Technically, they could try and wiggle out of a claim...
