Dave, I think it's the "DDE" that gets the map -Digital Diesel ECU - so you're totally right that in normal circumstances the map would never got over written - but it's not impossible for it to happen - just not at all likely!

Clive D

I had a go with a 535d in my Superchipped 530d last night, we had 4 off the line drags to amount 80-100mph, mine was quicker every time. However, I agree the power delivery of a 535d must be better than a chipped 530d as I have a massive surge as 2000rpm which can make traction a bit of an issue.

I really want to have a go in a remapped 535 as it is possibly next on the shopping list, although I am very tempted by a 545.

It would be a great to organise a E60 meet at Santa Pod for a bit of Run what U Brung. A collection of the whole range both standard and Modified would give us all some good benchmarks

Any interest!!!

Cheers

Hi Gavin - take a look at http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=10809 - June 11th possible for Santa Pod?

What made you go for the Remus exhaust? How does it sound? Did you do this before / after / at the same time as the remap - can you say what difference it made on it's own?

Cheers, Clive

Clive

I will try to make the 11th, both myself and my business partner both have 530ds

We choose the remus purely on looks, the noise difference is really slight, you can only hear it with the window open and under full throttle, I don't think there is any power gains, I just hated the downturned pipes.

May see you at Santa Pod

Cheers

Glad you enjoying your remap.

On another note does this mean if I get BMW to program MP3 under the warranty my remap will not get overwritten. I started a thread about this before, on this forum and BMWLAND, and were mixed responses.

Thanks
