530 engine mods

just wondering your thoughts on engine mods to boost the HP in the 530 engine. I have never done anything like that. i really didn't want the big v8 engine however some more HP in the 530 would be nice.
options
1. do the dinan, i believe you get around 240HP. Is this worth it? ( if this is it, i don't think it's really worth any money)
2. wait and see if the new 530/535? 259HP is more what i'm looking for.
3. when the model gets a face lift, get the 545

Well, if you decide to go with the new 530i, make sure it's everything you want it to be. Don't count on modding it much.
A good friend of mine is an SCCA Speed World Touring Car Championship team owner/driver who runs BMWs. He said they just got three E90 cars for next year's season and a personal 330i that the shop is using as a project car. I asked him last week about mods on the engine since I have 2006 530i. He said that the new engines will get their hp bumps mostly from a cam, not so much from bolt on mods or chips. Not very encouraging since tearing apart an engine to replace cams is a terrible thing to do for resale value, and probably as costly as upgrading to a 545i.
He said they should know more in the coming months.
