295/30/19 ON A 166REAR?

Where can i find the offset for the 166 rim? And for 167?
Thank you.
I'm asking because i want to go bbs so probably i would have to look for similar offsets with the 166 rims right? So that there are no suprises! Cuz i still don't get it with the offset...if the offset (number) is big you have to add spacers? How thick? Or is it the other way around?!
I'm so messed up...

Style 166 Offset for the rear is 28 and front 12. Offset is the other way round you explained - if the offset is small, then you'll have to use spacers (spavers are as thick as you are missing the offset) The smaller the offset, the more need for spacers. Style 167 has the same offsets as Style 166.

I don't think it will work. Yes it will fit on the rim, but I don't know whether it will fit on the car. Your two concerns are:

(1) Fit on car: If you compare the 295/30 with a 285/35, which appears to be the biggest tire you can fit on a 166M without clearance issues. The 295/30 is smaller diameter but .39 wider. Looking at the 285/35 on my car, I don't think there is enough room width wise to go any bigger. The 285/35 is 1" diameter bigger, but currently it sucks up into the wheel well. So, if your tire is sticking past the fender edge, I would think it would hit, unless you do some suspension mods or possibly roll the fender.

(2) ratio of front tires to back. The 295/30 with a 245/35 (front, what most people are running) as a .22 diameter difference from front to back. Stock is a .14. My guess is that this is close enough, but nobody really knows what the DSC can deal with.

Ok thank you. So if the rims i intend to buy have way bigger offsets what kind of problems can i run into? What is the max offset supproted by the E60 F/B?

I'll post back here later about offsets. It's giving me a headache too.

Alright, I finally made the effort to read up on offsets. I know now that negative offsets are not recommended. Every wheel that I've seen here has a positive offset it would seem. Let me back up before I continue. What is an offset? Take your rim width, find the centerpoint(middle). Determine where the mount surface is.

1. Mount surface behind the centerpoint = negative
2. Mount surface in front of the centerpoint = positive
3. Mount surface equal to centerpoint = zero

Measure the distance between mount point and centerpoint. That will be your offset number.

Picture here is an example of a positive offset. The dotted line is the centerpoint of the rim. The orange line is the mount surface.
