So i've been lurking in the e90post and some folks over there retrofitted to the 2010 idrive. the install is pretty much plug and play. check it out.

I'm thinking of doing this..

For those of you with the 2010 models what do you guys think of the new idrive? how's all the new feature and the system response time for the navigation? My current idrive system takes forever to load my destination.

As for pricing this retrofit is give or take $2000.. what do you 2010 guys think? worth the upgrade or no?

but the e60 seems different  maybe for the LCI it might work better but I am definitely interested! $2000 upgrade and it'll make me love my idrive again!

it's pretty much the same, however, on the e60s it requires you to relocate the cigarette holder. there's a member on there with an e60 that just finished the retrofit.

I should rephrase my earlier comment about it being plug and play. I meant the whole install is plug and play, no need for splicing wires and all that, after the install there's some coding to be done.

Ha are you joking? So the whole thing is essentially plug and play? With the exception of changing the connectors on the wires?

It was a pre-lci from germany. He said he'll post the pictures up this weekend, he's currently on a business trip. I'll let you know when he does.

pretty much with some coding to do, and you have to register the FSC codes with the cic to your vin number which enables the navigation system and voice control. i'm not quite sure how that's done, but member technic on the e90post finally figured it out earlier this week after a year!!
