in order for the new cic controller to work you must update to the latest idrive version.

hi r9ndy , only the update or update an coding ?
the update must be done by bmw-dealer ?

can i use the old Center console and rebuild them ?
something else to observance ?
can i use every controler ?

How much does this cost? To add the 2009 I drive into a 08 model or less.

Like 2,000$ to do it?

The controller it self is not that expensive but you need to factor new trim and programming/coding as well.

I was recently told that E60 also has the same trim piece - the frame around the actual controller.

Looks like the part numbers are

51169155970
51169155987

but why is there a frame and then support piece?
I guess the support is mounted under the actual central console?

Could anyone send a real pic of the oem console from '09 car?
