You should definitely make sure all maintenance is up today before modding. If you'rennot DIYing it the maintenance will eat you alive. Check out the sticky at bimmerfest titled "so you just bought an e60", it'sa great starting point.

The term "the best" can be very subjective:

best rims I can get? - What exactly do you like? Factory stock wheels? 19's, 20's, Concave, monoblock, forged? what kind of tires would you be driving on?

best exhaust system I can get? What are you expecting out of the exhaust? Louder, more bling looking? Name brand like Dinan, RPi, Eisenmann, RDSport, custom, muffler delete

any other mods or fixes? You know the maintenance history of the car?

budget of $3,500 - You might need a bit more $$$ depending on what you want and what the car really needs.

 

looking for quad exhausts that would backfire and black nice looking rims for not too much $
