2007 E60 550i M body kit

My Ride: 550i Manual Sport
Model Year: 2007
Engine: 4.8 L N62 V8
I would like to update my 2007 550i to look like the '08-'10 models with the M look. I went to the dealer to get a qoute and to my surprise, I'm told I need to change more than just the bumper for this conversion. I'm told that I alsp need to change the reinforcement beams, energy absorbers and many more costly parts. They said that the reason for thi is because my car is actually an early production model for that year. Its supposedly was shipped in '06. All these parts obviously equates to more work than I expected.
have any of you guys encountered the same problems with this same year conversion?
what can I do to save money?
should I get a replica M kit? What is the exact part number?

I bought OEM kit from Gary Romani of BMW of Newport (he'll give e60 forum members 25% off) then took it to a reputable body shop for painting and installation. The total cost is $2300 ($1300 for the kit and $1000 for paint and installation).

That price is not valid no more because part price went up quiet a bit last few month

If you go on your own you'll surely end up spending much more money for the same product.
Yeah your dealer is full of sh#t. Even if they misunderstood your request and think you want the ///M5 kit instead of the M Tech, that still doesn't require any reinforcement beams and stuff.

No need to get the bumper yourself and then take it to the body shop. The guys at the body shop usually have relationships with suppliers and can get these bumpers really cheap if you do business with them. I'm replacing the two bumpers to the M style in a couple of weeks (will post pics once it's done). He got me both bumpers for under $400.
