2005 530i and Ericsson T637

I went and got the Sony Ericsson T637 today and the phone/address book works great. For some reason I have no option to to SMS at the top menu under communcation as shown in the book.
Anyone have any idea if this should work. Many sites list the T637 as "fully compatible"
