My Ride: 07 530i w/ Sports Package
Default

Hey guys, since we're on the topic of offsets, can I get your recommendations on the following?

I'm interested in a 20" setup for my 07 530i w/SP. The wheels I want are Vossen VVS094. They are available in the following options for my E60:
Front
20 ? 8.5 5x120 +15 Offset
20 ? 8.5 5x120 +30 Offset
Rear
20 ? 10.5 5x120 +27 Offset
20 ? 10.5 5x120 +35 Offset

I want to avoid rubbing and want the car to sit nicely. Which offset should I go with for the front and rear? Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

None of those wheels will fit nice to be honest....especially the rears. The fronts are way too narrow (8.5") for those offsets. The rears at 10.5"...you'll want at LEAST a +15 offset.

With this configuration you won't have any problems. I am running 8.5 +15 front and 10.5 +25 and am NO WHERE near rubbing. When I had the 10mm spacers all around, making the specs 8.5 +5 front and 10.5 +15, I would rub when going on dips because my OEM sport suspension is too soft and also because I have 55k miles on it so they may need to be replaced soon.

People recommend 245-35-20 front and 275-30-20, but I just read in another thread today, that nigxdoof said the proper size for rears should actually be 275-25-20 to keep the same rolling diameter. Is that correct?

My only concern is clearance with the suspension, especially if you are lowered. This setup will also require non standard tire sizes and fender rolling, which will not sit well with the majority of the forum.

yeah ive got 5mm spacers for the fronts making them et11 hoping that will be enough lock to lock but if not i can go to 10mm

non standard tires would be 452s in 225/30/20-255/30/20

fender rolling is not a problem at all for me, i already have my fender liners cut so they flex if the tires rub from the drop

I think the safest configuration would be to anticipate putting at least 5mm spacers all around for suspension clearance.

Maybe something like:

20x9 et15 +5mm spacer
20x11 et20 +5mm spacer

well the wheels are already made so the 9.5 front at et16 i cant really do much about

i was planning on running 5mm in the rears too making it et9 effectively at 20x11

Ah, didn't realize you were asking regarding your DPE's. I think it'll fit though.

Thanks redEYEjedi. I'm in the same boat...I dont want to replace my OEM sport suspension and am at 60k miles. Do you have any pics of your current setup? I liked to see how it looks. Tire size is going to come down to whether you want better rim protection and ride comfort (245/35R20 & 275/30R20) or to not negatively affect the car's speedometer and brakes by keeping the same rolling diameter (245/30R20 & 275/25R20). With the latter, one bad pothole and your wheel is done for.
