Enter the last 7 digits of your VIN here http://realoem.com/bmw/select.do to find out what engine type.

AFAIK even both products designed & manufactured by Burger Motorsports JB is only for n54 turbo engine. ... while PBX maybe more suitable.

Keep me posted and I'd love to have anyone's opinion on either doing this tune or a juice box...

If the FI mod is a 50hp gain and you take into account the following:
1. the mod will subtract 30-40lbs of the 200lb weight difference between a 530 and 535
2. the N54 produces 20-30hp more than the BMW advertises 300hp
3. the N54 will still have a significant torque advantage
The performance will still not be equal to a 535!!!

So are you saying that you prefer lower displacement as opposed to the large displacement and even higher redlines that the M3 engine has progressed to?

For those who have followed this thread and had an interest in the three-stage manifold conversion for the 525 N52B30 Engine. I completed the mod about a month ago on my E60 and posted a complete write-up regarding the experience from concept, through mechanics, ECU tuning and re-mapping right up to Dyno results.

You can check the details out here. Thanks again to Diamond for first bringing this excellent idea to my attention!

cleung,
Doesn't ESS make a super charger for this engine? I imagine its huge $$$$ though. They may also have a tune similar to the BMX Powerbox but I think the hp gain is minimal. Also if I remember correctly I read about another member in the past who swapped out the bottom end, crank rods, pistons and shafts. Again that one must still run in the Thousands. Have you considered changing the headers?
