I'd say 19's, 20's will be rougher, seeing as how you live in Texas and the roads here aren't really the best.
My 20's run no rougher than my 19's. I run they same sidewall height as my 19's, 35 front and 30 rear. Most people run this setup, 245/35/20 and 275/30/20.

If you run the rubberband tires, then yes you will see a deduction in ride quality.

Thanks for all the advice. At this point I've made up my mind that I'm not going to do a lip and it seems to me that a lot of you feel that the ride is virtually the same between 19's and 20's, however is this true as well with stock suspension. Trying to keep costs down as minimal as possible.

Yup, go with the 20" tire setup listed above. You willnot compromise that much ride quality.

Either go 19's no lip or 20's with a lip.

Just out of curiosity, anyone here using BMW styling 125 rims (19") on their beloved E60? I would love to see a pic of it as I am contemplating if I need to swap my current rims to the styling 125.

Thats the styling 125.

what I have is this, below.

cheers
