To make a long story short... my 08 535i got hit last week when someone backed into me in a parking lot.... little damage, however enough that the whole rear bumper needed replacement..... so I asked the body shop that worked with the insurance company if they can install the OEM M-TECH vice the regular bumper instead.....So they installed the M-Tech..however, there is a BIG PROBLEM... if I press down on the diffuser, it bends back about 1 inch.....pretty much its not sturdy enough, No support..i'm worried that its just gonna rip off the bumper when I drive....side support looks and feels fine..but not where the diffuser is.... I just got the car back few hours ago, plus I got a bunch of run around that the shop talked with BMW (cuz thats where they got the parts from) and they said that it had all the parts needed...however, I can guarantee that there must be some support bracket missing (or something else).....

has anyone else installed and OEM M-Tech rear bumper on their non M-Tech 2008+ 5 series? Is so, please let me know what parts you needed...

any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is for the aftermarket bumper but it might just solve your issue.

as a matter of fact I was just reading that post... it was talking about aftermarket, and not OEM, so I wast sure...
it said I would need those 3 parts: 51127896615, 51127896616, and 51127897144 (rear left, right mount, and Guide bottom)....
here is the thing...the body shop ordered those but gave them back to BMW after fitting...they told me they didn't need them cuz my other mounts were good... however I think that they might be FULL OF SH*T... i'm gonna give them a call tomorrow
anyway.... the bumper installed is OEM....
if anyone got some experience with the OEM, please let me know. thanks "DoingItRight"...i'm waiting for pics of your ride once you get your mods done...I'm sure its gonna come out bad ass

Yeahh definitely double check with the shop. They might of been too lazy to actually fit the proper brackets. And thanks, should be getting it back from the shop by the next weekend, then will post some pics
