Yeah, that was good of him. And there might have been some instant karma in there. As he was on the phone w/ his insurance company, he got another call telling him that his house had been robbed. Though I don't take any gratification in that. Being robbed has GOT to suck worse than your car being banged.
Wow, sorry to hear about that. Not only you have bad luck, but you also seem to spread it around. I'm just saying.
All kidding aside, let's be thankful that in most instances it is our cars that get hurt and not some helpless child. Car will be fixed, and as someone mentioned, maybe you can wring an Mtech bumper out of the insurance???? G/L

Sorry to hear that! Car is barely damaged so it's easily repaired. A person can't be repaired if the person is "damaged"

Watch out. Ya they might trim your ear off next time! lol.. Did you at least get a free haircut that day??

I've had nothing but bad luck w/ this car. Every single time I say I'm gonna keep it for the long run, SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS TO IT!

Nasty but find out who the BMW dealer uses for body work and you should be fine. Mine is going into the shop for a week or more for a new fender, driver door. I guess the only positive is that my passenger side door, bumper and hood get repainted along with everything else so that the blend isn't noticeable. I also think like you about what is next to me, I had no dings ever. Now I have smashed door and fender. Go figure. Maybe we are too crazed and anal about a hunk of alum and metal?

Thanks for the condolences, guys. Tarfoot7, you're about spot on. I got a couple of estimates on my own before the guy's insurance does the estimate. One place said about $4900, another said about $5300. Both quotes are w/o even opening the hood. Funny how neither place even talked about repairing anything. They just say "hood... bumper... headlight..." as in replacing those parts. Amazing that ONE AFS headlight is $1300!!!

Anyway, it sucks having a smashed up car. It's SOOO embarrassing driving it right now. Hopefully the claims adjuster will call tomorrow so I can get this show on the road. I hate to imagine the rental I'll be getting.

I met w/ the claims adjuster today. He only wrote it up for $3800. He didn't include the headlight since he can't see anything wrong with it. Neither can I for that matter. I think that's just some wallet padding on the part of the body shops. Would be nice if I could use that money to repair the key job somebody gave me a few weeks ago. The estimates for that are from $800 - $1000 dollars!
