Autoweek posted the results to its long-term test of the 545i, one year and 24K+ miles and only one day in the shop for service

It's curious they didn't mention the thumpflats, other than to say that a brick cost them $430 for a new one. Their 3/4 review (link beneath wrap-up story) said they were curious how the impending snow tires would effect the car's handling. Perhaps their LACK of comment is significant, in that, even with snows, the car handles beautifully.

Cheers, and thanks,
Ray Hull

If you read their reviews of this car over the past year, they continually pointed out how driving this car made all of the little issues go away (like them forgetting to order heated seats!). Their summary write-up is basically the same, drive the car and stop worrying about things like the I-Drive.

Seems like they were happiest with the power of the car. It is, afterall, an award-winning 4.4L motor.

It's good to hear a positive review of a car that otherwise gets raped because of transmission and/or iDrive issues.

Wasn't bad, could have been worst. Someone else said it, they seemed to be impressed with the ponies the 545 has.
