Xi Front Control Arm Bushings
For anyone not replacing entire arms, and just replacing bushings. What tool are you guys using?

I got a bushing kit off eBay for $100. Came with a few threaded rods and a bunch of different cup sizes. Snapped the M8 rod though (cheap steel) and I had to buy a stronger grade 8 rod from Grainger. Worked great.

Just the standard hydraulic press. Renting tools wouldnt work for me.
I also upgraded to the E9X m3 bushings instead of the terrible fluid filled design

is this what you’re using? These look different than e60 bushings, there’s also a cutout...

Yep that is is. I chose that because it is a solid piece of rubber vs liquid filled rubber. More of a performance piece and will last much longer.
Of course it looks different, its a different design. I chose those over poly because I drive in all weather and poly needs to be lubed often enough if in rain/snow otherwise it'll wear quick

I believe you'll need to replace the arms next time as well. I've read a few times, including the link below, that these bushings should only be replaced once on a set of arms. Not sure if others have tested this theory or not.

thanks. I’m having mine pressed at a reputable Porsche / BMW specialty shop. If he says they’re not good, I’ll replace the entire control arms from FCP.
