My Ride: 2008 550i Sport (6-speed)
Pure white light ranges between 4000 - 4500k bulbs. Any higher and the light emitted from the bulb will begin to turn bluish. We don't see bluish light as well and therefore bulbs above 5000k will provide less usable light. Looks cool but less effective.
