My Ride: 535i M-Sport, Carbon Black Metallic/Natural Brown
Question

All my radio presets magically disappeared. As did the apparent "triple blinker" setting. I can of course reset them, but anyone know the reason?

'09 535i w/ 1400 miles, no dealer visits yet (as well it should be, I hope). Thanks!

Did you use the other key recently? Just guessing...

Each key has different presets and different settings. If you used a different one than you normally use, that could explain it. Presets have to be set independently for each key.

Nope, same key so far. I think I saw another post about this, but not sure. Curious. Gremlins?

Or a low battery. Just enough to loose the radio, blinker, and seat settings but not enough to cause the iDrive to spew warnings.

Hmm. Maybe. I don't use the car during the week so it stays garaged, just fire it up on weekends. Wouldn't think 5 days would drain because I run it two days out of the week, but that's a good point. Thanks,
T.

This happened to my car a couple times. All preset stations disappeared for no reason. I do not garage my car, I drive it almost everyday. Not a big deal, but sometimes is inconvenient.

Did you unlock the car with the keyhole, or do anything other than push the key fob?

I had this happen once, and I had to remember that I unlocked the car with the actual keyhole just to see how it worked.

5 days should not drain it, but keep in mind that car's CPU still checks the system every so often even if your car is off. Double check the battery and make sure that its up to par.

Ahhhh yes! I did use the actual key to roll down the windows and open the sunroof. That's probably it, although I wonder why that would affect the presets given its the same keyfob, but hey. Easy to reset, no big deal. Thanks.
