According to the dealership, it's the transmission.According to them they cant pull it out to see exactly what's wrong with the.tranny,because the stupid warranty is voided because I didn't get a a oil change when I didn't need one, so now I'm clueless on what to do next, I'm looking at 5 grand easy to fix which I don't have,.I wasn't expected the transmission to go out @ 67,000 miles especially since I bought the car @ 50,000. How often is the oil supposed to be changed,and how am I supposed to know if the Idrive checks everything as ok...I'm f@#$ed!!

I just read your post, I bought my car out of warranty @ 53,000. My trans slipped on me before 70,000 as well. I was going to buy an extended warranty when I first bought the car but the car salesman said it would be a waste of money. So, when I went back to him I asked if there was anything he could do. My original quote for a new trans was $6500. So, he made some calls and quoted me $400 for the trans and total with labor was $1200. I said do it, I thought it was an early Christmas gift since it happed two weeks before Christmas. As for changing the oil, it is suggested to do it @ 7,500 miles. Ask the sales manager if there is any way to do something cheaper for you, can not hurt to ask. Good luck!

The car was shaking bacause of a bad transmission that they won't look at because you were overdue for an engine oil change?

Seems like you need to take the car someplace else.

 

I bought a used 08 528I with 50k miles. Gotta oil change at 52,000 and another one at 59,000. Now suddenly after my car wouldn't start,my transmission dies, worse part about it my warranty is void because I failed to get a oil change 6,000 miles after the one I got at 52,000. So now I don't know what to do because they won't even.take the tranny out to diagnose it because the warranty won't authorize it,.How could this happen?what can I do?Edit/Delete Message

 

Some dealers will sell you a extended warranty or maintainence plan upto 60k miles. At the minimum you can get a 1year/12k miles plan. Not sure if existing damages will be covered.
