I had a memorable experience driving late at night on a mountain road in France with a Pocket PC navigation system. I had it in line of sight, zoomed in enough so that I could see the radius of upcoming curves and have the right entry speed in pitch black darkness. Brilliant stuff - like having a co-pilot. Now if you could get something like that on the HUD rather than just arrows...

It would be nice to pull up your email, download maps from google or mapquest. They could also add compass heading for those not fortunate enough to have NAV (I will on my next BMW!). They should also make the stupid thing boot up to the last screen viewed, I really hate having to scroll to my favorite screen
Id also like to see BMW borrow a cue from Acura. Let the car notify the dealer when there is a malfunction that way the dealer can contact you to schedule an appointment. it would be simple for the car to send a notification message in the form of an email to the dealer. Heck the car could even use the bluetooth phone for this. The car could then forward the proper error codes or diagnostics information therefore any parts required could be ordered ahead of time.
