Would you get CIP updates if...
I currently have not had one single issue that would cause me to want to, but I am curious why some of you would or wouldnt.
The only issue I have had was with my idrive that the screen went blank or BMW screen showed. It ended up being my CCC COntroller, fixed within a few hours, and has worked perfect since.

Don't fix it if it is not broken. I don't fix software that is not broken unless a newer version offers a new feature that is significant to me. Even then I wait to see what experiences others are having with the newer version. The cure often is worse than the disease and may negate the good things accruing from a new feature.

for new CIP upgrades,
i am looking for better shifting
and idrive software that is faster (regardless of the fact that it still locks up, even after i had it upgrated last month)

My Ride: E61 525iA Build 2004/08. "Safirschwartz Metallic". Navi Pro, Adaptive Headlights, Bi-Xenon, Panorama Sunroof etc... CIP 18.00.01 (No noticed bug)
If I for sure know there will be an improvment if I update - I'll do it even if I don't have any issues (one example is Navi 3D-view). It's my strong belief that there are always issuses - you just are not aware of these until they get fixed and you notice the improvment!

Not unless there are new features that I must have.
I've been told that the flash memory can only be updated a certain number of times (12 or 13). Why limit the number of future updates you can add?
