Another valuable point here tbh, spec is everything, otherwise you will feel cheated and wish you had held out for better spec or end up chasing endless retrofits and empty your wallet in another way, buy now, dont pay later

If everything else is right, go ahead with this car. I personaly would'nt consider it (here it is an option at CHF 2000 = USD 1750) unless it displayed also engine speed (currently only on the M5) and garbox mode for automatics.

HUD is a pointless but kool thing, its one of those things you get just because its kool.
I remember I bought a samsung phone a few years ago, I bought it because you pressed a button on the side and the phone flipped open electronically. Completely pointless it just looked good lol. The phone itself was pretty crap though.
As for your HUD, it depends how much you want it really. Notice that the people who dont have it say you dont need it and the people that do have it say they couldnt have a car without it. TBH Id be happy with a good spec with sat nav, heated seats, bluetooth, heated steering, far more functional stuff. I say if the deal is perfect as you said, then just go and get the car. You will have forgotten about the HUD after about 2 minutes probably anyway!
whilst on the HUD topic, you were all saying that getting a used E60 with HUD is rare. Well there is one for sale near me, so if anyone in the UK was looking for one with HUD but couldnt find it, theres one on autotrader now! Its a 530d Msport, gorgeous blue colour, up for ?24,000.

Another thing is the premium you pay for having it...
Anyway, according to rumours all F10/F11 will have HUD...

No, I don't agree. The HUD save me from refocus my eyes (I'm one of those who look at what speed I'm going)
