If the first is CPO'd then the warranty should be to 100k miles. I'd get the first regardless...more warranty and expensive to fix if it goes south. Get it down to $36-7 range.

Really, looking back now, I'd get the one that isn't CPO and get a good 3rd party warranty. CPO coverage isn't very good, pretty much just covers the stuff they know won't really break. Get the non-CPO (preferably from the original owner) and get a good 3rd party warranty to give you peace of mind

the CPO is very good--the only things it does not cover are maintenance items (oil, brakes, etc.), and the radio components. otherwise most everything else, electrical or mechanical, will be fixed for nothing more than a $50 fee to BMW.

Not exactly, I need a new CCC and they are not covered - expected bill? $2k. CPO sucks, epic fail BMW

Same situation with my 06 750i. Amp died and it's not covered. Repair bill $2k!

Yep, and if the TCU fails - not covered. Also, my belts are fine, but the dealer tells me I need a new tensioner - guess what? not covered, they wanted $600 to fix it. I have been working on my own cars for 20 years, I'll be damned if I am going to pay $600 to replace a tensioner

what is a CCC?

that's weird, maybe you have a crappy dealer? from what i have heard locally, the dallas guys have had good luck with their CPO vehicles. i have a friend that has no complaints.

yes, radio components are not covered. this is very well stated in their CPO agreement. i guess they figure if people are going to eff around with anything in their car, it's going to be the stereo, so they just assume not cover any of it.

no offense, but if this is true and bmw does give you shit about a CPO warranty, i would never buy a BMW again. that's effin ridiculous.

My response from my dealer was that BMW made changes to the CPO warranty in September, basically cutting coverage. This may not be my last BMW (loved the brand since I was a kid), but it will be my last CPO. Optimally I will buy my next one from a private seller (hopefully original owner) and get a 3rd party warranty that actually covers everything I can possibly get coverage for.
