My Ride: 2013 BMW 550i M-Sport
I would like to know more about the ASC extended warranty! I have a 2008 550i Sport with 72K on it and think this would be a wise investment.
Any feedback on this warranty and where to find it? Are there any others that are better and provide as good or better service?
Thanks for the info,
Craig

I have a 2004 545i and purchased the extended maintenance, but would not do it again as I do not drive more than about 12K miles a year. I thought I would be able to have new brakes installed for sure, but the dealer said my pads were still ok when my contract was about to expire. I raised hell as my pads appeared to be only about 20% or so left, but they could care less. So the cost for a few oil changes, charcoal filter and wiper blades would have been much less than the cost of the maintenance contract. It was nice to get loaner cars to check out such as a 335i a couple times though, that and the red carpet and a few lattes from the super models at Crevier BMW. Damn! "sir, would you like a Latte while you wait for your loaner car?" Sure, I'd love one along with your phone #!" Only consider it if you know you will need new brakes prior to the expiration, and are single and think you can score a date from the service girls, otherwise the stealer wins! or you get caught by your wife, and pay much more in legal fees for a divorce. (never could get a phone #)

you got models?! now I really feel jipped!
I do rememember ONE cute 5' 11" blonde receptionist that went to get my car after I had it serviced. I'm not even into blondes but goddamn my eyes literally popped outta their sockets when I saw her pull up my E60 and come outta the drivers seat.

We have very similar cars. I purchased the Maintenance plan when I bought the car, thinking I would at least get new brakes out of it. I currently have 72k miles on the car, and the brakes are still great, (good for brakes, bad for me breaking even on the maintenance.) I am taking the car in on Tuesday for the scheduled "Service" that the idiot light recommends.
If I can't wear down the brakes by 100k miles, the only other thing that would get me to even on the car is the clutch. If you read the fine print in the Maintenance agreement, the clutch is included. Seeing as you also have a manual, that would be another cost to factor in. What does a clutch replacement cost? Did you buy new, or is there a possibility that someone else ragged out the clutch before you got it?
The HPFP is warranted to 120k miles under a new revised warranty for everyone. My SA basically said (off the record), that it covers everything to do with the fuel delivery system. I've had two HPFP, new turbos, and all injectors replaced so far.
Good luck.

The extended Maintenance plan I think is not worth it. I have 95000 on the ticker and I have only had to change my oil and filters. I just had my plugs, transmission fluid, differential fluid done for under $500 (I love Indy shops ) . Everything that I have done after the initial plan was up has been minor and cheap. It helps to find a good mechanic. I never found a reason to waist money on an extended plan. If you are not a DIYer find a trustworthy mechanic. It pays. Good luck with what you choose.

My Ride: BMW 535xi
Model Year: 2008
Today I got a proposal from ASC for my wife's 08 X3 which has about 25,000 miles. Bumper to bumper coverage - everything except wear and tear- up to 75,000 miles for 6 years - $2850.00. My 08 535xi does not lose factory warranty until June 2012 but I will look into purchasing one for that then.

I will definitely get an extended warranty. It will be the plaitnum coverage from BMW, or if I want to save the most money, then National Auto Care thru my credit union which is about $1500 less then BMW's and also goes to 3yrs instead of 2. Both do the 100K miles.
