My 08 535I is about to expire soon and I can?t decide what to do. Purchase the extended Maintenance package from the stealership or pay as I go.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. I love my 535 and plan on keeping her for a while.
Thanks,
Robert

Its not worth it IMO. If you know how and have the resources to do fluid changes, filter, and brake pad/rotor replacement, its just a matter of learning how to reset the service indicators.
There are plenty of references and DIY's to learn from. Otherwise you could find a good indy shop near you to do the maintenance

God yes. I wouldn't consider an e60 without it. Heck, even with a warranty I was still paying for pieces of stuff that ultimately added up enough for me to sell my car. ASC has a great bumper to bumper warranty with $0 deductible for around $2k.

Are my eyes going bad or is the OP asking about extended MAINTENANCE?

Extended maintenance = garbage
Extended warranty = lifesaver
Find decent independent mechanic and familiarize yourself with the DIY's, vendors and maintenance schedules on the forum and you'll be all set.

remember the hpfp is already warrantied past the standard 3yr/50K miles.....that would be the major component I'd worry about with the 535i/xi...

If you're a conservative driver putting average miles on your car it's not likely you'll have any financial benefit by buying the 2yrs / 50K maintenance coverage.
That said, IMHO one full brake R&R, brake fluid flush, 4 oil services, 2 microfilter replacements, and a few windshield wipers at a dealer service center will make it a break even. If you are a DIY and don't factor in the value of your personal time or have an indy who will give you a deal on parts cost and do quality work it might not make $$$'s and cents for you.
