So i purchased some new winter tires for my winter setup. Dunlop Winter Sport 3D 225/50/17's. Tirerack had a great deal and I bought the last set.

Since I'm storing my summer tires, what are recommendations for the tires? I also bought the tirerack.com tire tote along with 2 pairs of tire felts.

http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/catego...ry=Tire+Storage

Is it ok if I stack my 20 inch rims with these felts and leave it for all of winter? will it affect the tires, like flat spots or anything? Also, should i keep the rubbers moisturized or something?

mike, i bought them at afterthoughts auto for $71 shipped WITH tire felts. BTW, those tire felts do not really fit 19" and up. it protects the face but not the lip. LOL. i still have round foam between each wheel just in case.

You can stack your summer rims vertical or horizontal (no load on them).
It's wise to clean the tires and wheels and wax the wheels before the storage.

Also fill the tires with the max pressure.
Just be sure to check the tire pressures again in spring.

Darn, that is what I was afraid of. Do you think cardboard in between tiretote and felt is good enough to protect the 20's?

Max pressure? hmm.. What would that do for the storage?

I'll probably put the rims on top of eachother like this,

(I dont have this item, but will be stacking them this method)

+1. I found putting the cardboard inside the tote on the bottom works well to keep it in place. I was also bummed to see that the felts are not big enough to cover the entire face of the rims.

Mike - Thanks for posting! I own the totes already, but not the felts. I'm ordering the felts tomorrow, thanks to you . You rock bud!

PS - Your car must be looking hot with 17's. Ah yeah baby!

Thanks for the info guys..

As for the 17's C.. I haven't put them on yet, but They'll look awesome! I have to take off my splitter too, it'll be too low for the front.

*sigh* so sad, won't be seeing my 20's till spring. I'll take pics of the hot 17's on the car when its done.
