2004 545i with rain sensor, no HUD, 88k Miles
Aftermarket windshield= $385
BMW OE= $620
What do you thinks, is the BMW logo that important?
Is there really a difference in glass quality ?
My deductable is $500 - strongly considering NOT making a claim, either way i'm out some $$.

I am not sure what kind of coverage you have; however, in most states you do not have to pay your deductible, but I heard that it is counted as a claim against your policy (2 edge knife...). BMW was working in replacing my A-pilar and somehow the technician broke mine, they replaced it at no cost, of course. You need to be careful with aftermarket due to sensitivity of the rain sensor. Get more opinions before making a decision!

I had mine replaced last month. you might want to double check with your insurance company because broken glass is considered a comprehensive claim and not collision, and sometimes they wont charge you deductible.
I had the after market one put on my car, it's the same exact windshield with the same specifications the only difference is the logo.

I wouldn't even bother with insurance, imo.

I used aftermarket on my Audi S4 (with rainsensors) and had no issues.
