I just had my windshield replace on Friday at 9am due to the old screen cracking, the guy said to leave it 2 days before washing the car. When i said Sunday afternoon then he hummed abit and asked if i use a pressure washer which i dont, the problem is that the car hasnt been washed for 2 weeks now and its killing me to look at it.

Should i leave it till after work on Monday or go for it on Sunday afternoon, some of the guys i work with think it hilarious as they only wash their cars once a year i couldn't even imagine doing that.

My limited experience has been to get the same advice--two days. I waited a week to go through some temperature changes as the seal cured. I know, it's a terrible feeling to have a dirty car, but probably worse to have soapy water on your dashboard. GL.

Most adhesives used to install glass cure completely within 48 hours - unless temps are very very cold. Aside from getting your car clean look carefully in every imaginable location for any water leaks or listen for wind noise, especially at higher speeds, indicating a bad installation.

Thanks for the advice.

I bit the bullet and decide to use a bucket of water and a spong to clean the body work, I gently cleaned around the windscreen area with a damp spong and dried it off straight away. I also decided to give the other parts of the body work a coat of wax, the car looks fantastic now with a nice new windscreen .
