hey fellow E60's, my car has been stored for the past 4 months. i will be taking the car back out on the road at the end of april early may. i always put the highest grade of octane gas i can at sunoco ultra 94. about 2 a week i start up my car and let it run to operating temperature. so i have been topping up the gas tank with ultra 94 from a cherry can. my question is when i fire her back up in the spring i was thinking of putting in an octane booster since the majority of the gas is still from 4 months ago. even though i put in a fuel treatment to prevent rotting, i am still having a slight rough idle issue. my question is which brand i should use or should i use it at all. i have had good experiences with lucas, but i just read some info about the NOS brand. is this NOS brand recommended for our cars or should i go for the lucas. btw i have a 545i. thnx in advance.

Roger

I don't trust gas that's sitting over 3 months without stabilizer. I'd use a can of SeaFoam or equivalent and see what that does. The higher concentration the better- that stuff works wonders on my stored cars and boats.

IMO

Sta-Bil is a product widely recommended whenever gasoline powered equipment is stored for a period of time.

Agreed. But he's already been stored for 4 months- I agree on Stabil- use it preventatively... But if it's already been 4 montsh without it- he should try SeaFoam or Techtron or such- just make sure it has NO ALCOHOLs at all because it's the stupid gov't mandated ethanol that makes the gas unstable in the first place.
