i was reading this thread https://5series.net/forums/topic/942...ld+washer+pump, but i didn't see anyone mention that no windshield fluid was coming out at all. I am using
RainX windshield bug remover fluid. It hasn't been working for a few months now, but didn't have the time to get to it til I replaced the fog light lamps today. The reservoir is full. I haven't tried cleaning the filter yet, but i just don't hear nothing when I am trying to use the wipers. Any suggestions?

It's probably electrical if you don't hear it trying (assuming you could always hear it before) - check a fuse first (don't know which one), then the motor.

Check the motor for the windshield washer fluid. Very likely, it's dead.
Disconnect the motor, use wires and connect 12V directly to the motor and see if it runs.

Had my 08 535i in recently for washer not working. They ended up replacing the pump motor and a computer inside the car ( he said it was in the passenger kick panel but they also removed the glove box ). If not for extended warranty it would have been around $1200. He could not tell me why they needed a computer to spray water on the windshield. Also said pumps were not unusual but the computer going was.

I disagree...many washer problems result from algae and other impurities clogging the system. I recommend using pre-mixed washer fluid (reputable brand) or concentrate using "distilled" water.

As others have mentioned before, it is probably the pump. Usually when it goes out it causes a leak as well (which is surprising that yours did not). It's a job you can do yourself but I would simply find an indy shop that would do it for a reasonable price.

its not that hard to replace the pump. just pull back the plastic behind the front drivers wheel. unless there's another part i am missing to replace.
