I'll try again when I leave work but I tried to touch and hold the locking sensor on both the driver's door and the rear driver's side door. No joy on either, but then per an earlier thread, I have been having issues getting consistent locking with the CA...

I know, but the frankly the CA has never functioned well for me in terms of locking. I've just gotten used to using the key fob to lock but will mention it at my next service...

I was thinking the same thing earlier about the issues you've been having...it seems like there has to be "good contact" for the stuff to roll up. If you move your finger or otherwise interrupt the contact with the car, everything stops rolling up until you touch it again. You can even hear a faint clicking noise when the windows begin to roll up as if the car is energizing some module that is sending power to the window motors...

I do have CA and I touched the handle but did not push it. The car locked alarm armed and the windows started to close. I did not touch long, as the windows started going up, i was not touching the car at all. The windows closed completely without me touching the car at all. Again I was never able to replicate this.

Interesting about pushing in on the door handle. All windows can also be closed on my 535xi by removing the key from the key fob, inserting it into the driver's side key slot, turning it to the lock position, and holding it there until all the windows close.

That's exactly the way it's supposed to work on US cars without Comfort Access.

With CA, you don't need to use the key, you just have to touch the handle in the same area used for locking the car...

I do have Comfort Access. So I tried it and it works both ways. Knowing BMW, there may be a couple other ways to do it.

Thanks

Yeah, I guess I forgot that CA cars also work with the key but then again, why would anyone ever need to do it that way?
