True I have such worry of that at first. However after doing much research, I'm not alone on this. There are many more other XI have the staggered set up in this forums for years with no problem. Just as long as you get the tires that have the same or close to each other perimeter. the X5 are 4wheel drive but they do come with staggered setup from factory. Check out the link below:
