On the 2005 E60 you have a switch that turns the rain sensor on or off.In the manual it tells you to make sure you turn it off before you enter a car wash or it could damage the rain sensor

My Ride: Nothing to boast about!
Mine works very nicely. After the disaster in this region, it has been raining everyday; sometimes very heavy, sometimes drizzles. The wiper has been behaving very well, although at max. speed sometimes they were still not enough but I would put the blame more on the rain than anything else.

My Ride: 2004 545i 6 spd Sports Package | NAV | PDC | Logic 7 | BT retrofit | SW V13.3
I just drove 700 miles, LA to San Jose and back. The automatic wipers have performed flawlessly and have been very useful especially as we kept driving through patches of rain and sunshine. They never wiped a dry winshield and always left it clean. The 545i is great. I had no problems at all on the drive. i can navigate through all I drive seetings without taking my eyes off the road. The NAV Guidance was excellent, the climate control was superb. It kept us comfortable through temperatures ranging from 35 degrees to 65 degrees. I even saw the ice warning that I had read about on this forum. Finally I briefly touched 145mph.
When you go in a carways just set them off.Sorry but i don't see the good thing of that then you just can set them up manually. When its start to rain they must wish automatic not first set up sensor. Also sensor sucks cause its wish to slow even in the highest positions.

Sorry you dont like it... its really hard to please several million people with EVERY SINGLE function... they try their best to please as much as possible.
Maybe you're just use to another way of doing it comming from another car. I'm sure you have some other annoyances with other cars...
Now if i may be fair i find that BMW has one off the bedest details. Why?More function buttons must be lighted.NOw like for the airvent blowers its not lighted.Other brands does it aswell. So the little details make that car not perfect.Same for no light at feets standard,...
But for the rest does BMW a good job !
Yes, I do drive with the E60 . It belongs to my father but I'm the one who's taking good care of it . I can take the E60 whenever I want....
As for all the other times, I take MY E39 525TDS
Now.....please stop with your annoying questions . If you dislike the new 5 so much (interior lighting, rain sensor, blablabla) then just tell your daddy that he must buy a mercedes the next time.

Nah, seriously, I would rather focus on other things than small features like these which to me make no difference.
But you are entitled to your opinion.
