I think BMW Rules is too young to drive a car.

Doesn't seem like a major deal - to push one button once if it's raining.? My main issue is I'd like more sensitivity in the adjustment.? Sometimes I would like the wipers to activate more frequently and I'm maxed out on the sensitivity setting.

I agree 100% -- the sensor on the E39 was way more accurate.

As far as the other posts on this subject, I have no idea what's being talked about now...

Absolutly agree with you, same with seat heaters they should stay on until I turn them off not the other way around just like auto lights. But most people (here) do not seem to agree with that.

The seat heater (and steering wheel heater) does stay on unless you return to the car after 16 minutes. Again, I think that's a great feature and it's exactly as I want it.

My wife's car's seat heaters stay on between journeys because the switch is a hard toggle instead of a momentary one. I can't count how many times I got in the car and didn't want the heaters on but forgot that they were set. It wasn't until after I was too hot that I realized the fricking heaters were still on from a previous day. Years ago (not sure about currently), SAAB had "automatic seat heaters" that attempted to maintain a (factory set) temperature. I hated this feature the few times I drove one.

I am hoping the rain sensor works better than in the X5. On the x5, it seems they are always going too fast & never slow. The dealer checked it a number of times, but say its okay. I asked them to disconnect the sensor, but they said it would leave a fault code which would probably be more irritating than the problem.

When I replaced my windshield recently, the new rain sensor works better, albeit I would still prefer being able to set it manually. I find this option a irritant, but you have to get it b/c of the packaging. Hopefully, its better in the e60.

I like the rain sensor how it is. If it starts raining you push the button once and then forget about it. As long as it's not raining nothing happens. that gives me total control.

That is not really total control, it doesn't work any other way. I can do the same thing on my other car but can leave it on auto if I choose.

For whomever the original poster was, saying that the details of the 5 's*ck' is much too general and vague, imo. Just what is he talking about. We can discuss each one, like adults, that seems to be bothering him. Maybe a poll or two can even be created.

For me, I can't think of any detail of the 5 that fit the 's*cks' category. The only thing that gets on my nerves slightly is that the car chimes too much for my liking. Like when the key is removed after a drive. But that's very minor. I'd like to have Sirius and Nav, but I can live. I feel aafe and secure in it and it's an absolute blast to drive. What's he talking about?

Thanks,

Sam

I like the rain sensor exactly like it is. I never use it and rarely use the wipers.
