Why does my 530i idle roughly?

Ever since this month, every time I start my car it idles roughly for about 5 minutes and it will then become smooth. I just finished the break-in period and I don't wanna take it to the service center yet. I take my cars to the service center every 3 months and I am hoping to take my 5er there next month.

Is this a serious problem?

It should take 30 seconds, not 5 minutes.

I promise you! Not exactly 5 minutes but it is more than 30 seconds!

you need to get that checked out by the dealer. Oh and by the way, WELCOME TO THE FORUM, you may notice there are a few other members from HK - not many, I think the HK members thread is a mere 880 pages, that's all

I am not sure if this will help you. I used to have rough idle on cold starts for about 10-15 seconds, then I switched to a different brand of gas and the rough idle went away.
