Hi all of you,
This is my 1st post, I'm Tim from Holland. I have ordered my E60 LCI a week ago and will get it end of May.
Today I visited my dealer because I was invited for the E60LCI intro. The changes are subtle, especially the interiour has really improved and I love the new rear lights. Small wonders of optical technology.
I have some pictures and can post them if people are interested. In Holland 24-3 was the offcial intro for the LCI model, I'm not sure about other countries.
Thank all of you, I found this forum quite interesting and it helped me in my choices for ordering the car.

Welcome and thanks for the pix

I know that a E60 is designed for bigger engines, but I was actually surprised by the way the car felt, absolutely not too slow. I think it has also to do with the low weight (only 1485kg). I'm sure I will enjoy the car very much, as a gadget freak and a car lover.
My background is electrical engineering so I will probably be doing a lot of hacking & adjusting & retrofitting when I get my car. Normally if I buy something I disassemble it within a week just to check all the design details. I'm not sure if I'll do that with the new car though...
I work in the automotive industry by the way, BMW is one of our customers.
Question:
Do any of you know if the USB option can be retrofitted in the LCI? I did not order it but I'm interested: Does it connect to the navigation system directly or is it a seperate control box that connects to the MOST bus?
The reason I suspect the navigation system to be handling the USB, is that I understood that the USB option cannot be ordered in combination with a standard radio. I would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this one.
Thanks,
Tim

We are on the same ship--Courage. Goto http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/
Highlight Customer Centre and click on cargo tracking. Then goto track by and click Auto Cargo, enter your VIN under cargo ID. This will give you the most details.
It doesn't say where we are now, or even if the ship left, but my car, at least, was loaded on the ship on March 20.

Hello guys. While I don't expect to be first 2008 in the states, I may be the first 550 Msport with the carbon black paint. At least that is what appears to be the case with the threads I have read so far. My dealer has advised me of an April 16th delivery. Began production on March 6th and I believe is on a ship now. I have enjoyed checking out all the photos from the UK/Europe, so I will be sure to post shots when I pick up my new ride.
Thanks.
Thanks.
