Sep 2004 build - now 11,000 miles. It had started to creak and groan a lot (worse than my E39 540i ever was). However, I applied silicon lubricant to just the felt strip on the top of the doors this weekend - and it has stayed quiet since.

My previous car from 08/2004 creaked and was handled with the transparant tape.
