What model is that on? 545i, I would have to assume. What type of Transmission. The Auto has more losses than the stick.
If it was a standard, what gear did they run it in? I have always tryed for 1:1 ratio if available or the closest to it.

did the car freak out at all while on the dyno?
mind shut down the servotronic system, and it locked in the top speed message at 145MPH .. something about driving moderately if i remember correctly.

I don't think it matters since the auto torque converter is locked up with a clutch which would eliminate loss there. According to ZF doc I saw, it is capable of locking up in all six gears and in my experience it seems to do that.
